Please read the New Parishioner Welcome Letter below from our pastor, Fr. John Hornicak.
Dear New Parishioner,
It is with great joy and excitement that I join with the staff and current parishioners to welcome you to the Holy Ghost Church family. It is my belief that God has sent you to this parish to be your spiritual home.
You are a gift from God. As God’s family, we will be a source of blessing for one another by worshipping together, sharing our lives and faith, and supporting and caring for one another as we strive to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Inspired and guided by the Holy Spirit and the teachings and example of Jesus, we strive to grow in our commitment to know, love and serve God, ourselves, and each other.
One of the most important parts of the Catholic Church is the parish. Why? Because the parish impacts people’s lives. It is in the parish setting where we receive the Body and Blood of Christ, listen to the Word of God proclaimed, find forgiveness of our sins in Reconciliation, communal support, and ways to give life to our faith.
The parish is a living, breathing entity because in it God interacts with his people.
We hope that this will be your experience here at Holy Ghost and that you will find warmth and hospitality here in a spiritually nourishing environment. I invite you to join us for daily mass at 8:30 AM, and Sunday Mass at 4:00 PM on Saturday, or 8:00 AM or 10:30AM on Sunday. God has given each of us great gifts, gifts which He intends for us to use to help build His kingdom here on earth. As you become more acquainted with us, we hope you will become hungry to continue to grow spiritually, to put your faith in action, and to use your gifts with us as disciples of Christ. When we encounter Christ, we are called to mission to be missionary disciples.
I hope that you will share the unique gifts that God has given you by joining in our ministries. Our ministries enable us to live our faith through service and social justice. Be sure to call Susan Tutaj at 630-860-3691 or email her at stutaj@holyghostparish.org as she can help you find the ministries that best suit your giftedness. Please take advantage of all our parish has to offer through our website www.holyghostparish.org, parish bulletin, monthly newsletters, emails, and by downloading our parish app on your smart phone or tablet.

In closing, I ask for your prayers for our faith community, as I will certainly keep you and your family in my prayers. I hope that you will introduce yourself to me in the near future, so that I may personally welcome you. May the Good Lord bless you and your family.
